How to Take a Half Serving of Kratom Seltzer (Without Wasting the Can)

A can is a fixed dose — but you are not obliged to drink all of it. Partial servings are how you calibrate safely, and how a beginner gets real value out of a single can. Here’s how to do it properly.

Why Partial Servings Matter

The single best predictor of a bad first experience is drinking a full, unfamiliar strength in one go. Splitting a can lets you meet a new MIT level halfway, at zero extra cost. It is the seltzer equivalent of starting low.

The Technique

  1. Chill the can thoroughly first. Cold liquid holds carbonation far better once opened.
  2. Pour by eye into a glass. A 12oz can is roughly 355ml; half is about 6oz. Marked measuring glasses make this exact if you want precision.
  3. Seal the remainder immediately. Decant into a small bottle with as little air space as possible, or use a can cap, and refrigerate.
  4. Drink the rest within 24 hours — but not within 24 hours of the first half. That’s a second dose, not a continuation.

Partial Serving Maths

Can Half Third
55mg MIT ~28mg ~18mg
100mg MIT 50mg ~33mg
125mg MIT ~63mg ~42mg
175mg MIT ~88mg ~58mg

What Not to Do

  • Don’t leave an open can out overnight and drink it flat the next day — refrigerate and seal it.
  • Don’t “top up” after 20 minutes. Onset is 15–30 minutes; judging at 20 is judging too early.
  • Don’t dilute and assume it’s weaker. Adding water spreads the same MIT over more liquid — the dose is unchanged.
